Description of Results

The MySQL seasons table is used to display the astronomical cycle icons for those dates they fall on in my calendar application. These will vary slightly from year to year (depending on leap years), and also on your location on the Earth. My location is the District of Columbia, which is in the Northern Hemisphere and in the EST timezone (-0500 UTC). More information on seasonal cycles can be found at the Wikipedia pages on Equinox and Solstice.

The Cardinal signs, and their corresponding seasonal cycles are:

Like all the tables being used by the calendar, these are designed for very fast look-ups in order to avoid complicated and time-consuming calculations. The most complex of all being moon_phases.

And also the most interesting.
